Never flown a ''larger'' funtana but did have the white .40 size a few years ago with a Saito .82 on it. I can say without a doubt that it was the worst airplane I have ever laid my hands on ( and I have had a bunch!!). Hated it sooo bad I couldn't sell it fast enough[:'(] After further reading, found out I wasn't alone!!
I couldn't agree more. I HATED my Funtana, and I had the X50. I flew the S40 and the S90...and they flew the same or worse. I also have had several people tell me the X100 fly the same as the 90. The 125 is going to have to fly completely unlike any Funtana ever to be a legitimately decent 3D aircraft. In fact, I've flown sticks that KE as well as Funtanas.
One bad thing that no other Funtana has had is the Pre-Printed covering. Good luck making repairs look good!! It'll take a master artist months to get even the smallest of patches looking good. That was the worst decision HH has made in a LONG time!!
If I were you, looking for a good 3D plane in that price range...I'd get myself a DLE30 and strap it to an Edge. I've got one priced out at $630 plus airframe with a lipo/reg on ignition and a separate lipo/reg on rx. You can get a gasser airframe for less than a Funtana 125. The price difference between the DLE30 and the 120AX is basically 2 gallons of glow fuel.
