UCD / Saito 100 / RPM for 16x5 Zinger Prop
Folks,
I've been having some power related issues on my UCD .60 which is equipped with a Saito 100. At first I had heating issues that resulted in the Saito flaming out at very inopportune times. That is now resolved with larger holes in the cowling.
However, I continue to think I'm not getting all the power out of the motor that I should be. I run a wooden Zinger 16 x 5 and am only getting about 8,000 RPM out of it. I would expect that this motor could turn this prop at 9,000 RPM at a minimum and maybe even 9,500.
Please comment on my expectations for RPMs with this Prop/motor combo. Thanks!
BTW, I'm also running a Cline regulator.

MY saito is turning a 15x6 dynathrust prop at about 9000. THe saito 100 has a little more power than the os 91. the 100 might spin a couple hundred rpms more.

I tried the 16/5 zinger (wood) on the 100 saito with 15% nitro.
this prop bogged the engine down too much!!...did detect some knocking also !! I went back to the apc 15/4w , this prop /engine combo is near perfect with 15% nitro for 3-d in a fun-fly plane.

I used the 16x5 wooden zinger on my Saito 100 and was getting 8800 to 8900 I beleive. it seems as if you are almost 1000 RPMs short. Have you gapped the valves recently, mabey they need to be checked. I am currently running an APC 16x4 Wide on my 100 and w/ 30% Nitro it tachs at 9300-9400. I think it is the best prop for 3ding and whatnot.
