Watched your video John tell us what we saw and how to do it. If I knew what each one was I would not be asking.

That (Video and desciption)would be a very good thing to do for us John but why not go through what you did on the tape and tell us what each one is called then we can ask how to do it.

1.Get alot of altitude
2. do a knife edge, or as the model almost stalls tip some rudder so it falls onto its side from the vertical climb
3. Give full aileron in the same direction of the rudder, which should be up if your in knife edge, and full down elevator

That should make it go, to wind it up a bit put a touch of throttle in it.

To exit

Either let go of the controls and throttle to idle
or
give opposite rudder for an inverted flat spin. Then release controls to exit the flat spin

The manuever can be done from a blender, or turned into a blender and back and forth

Does that make any sense?

You can watch my super sukhoi vid, I do a couple in that too, its on my prop site below.

Thanks , so let me try understand.

Flying right to left i start knife edge , with left aileron ( canopy facing me ) holding with right rudder.
Then add full right rudder, full right aileron and full push elevator.

This correct?

Well, lets say your in a knife edge flight from left to right, you will only be using left rudder to hold your altitude. Cut your throttle to idle and as it slows down keep adding left rudder to hold it in knife edge. Once it pretty much stalls, add full left aileron, full down elevator and full left rudder. It will tumble a sec then should go into the spin, give a bit of throttle to spin it up a bit.

Then the flat spin entry is simply hold all sticks where they are, and add full right rudder then slowly reduce the aileron as necessary.

Hows that?

Default RE: what are your best stunts?

i have a question. i have a 26% dave patricks extra 330L. it has a ts 52 gasoline engine on the front. it flys great and has plenty of power. it does flat spins nice upright and inverted. it will also torq roll really well. the question i have is about the harrier. when i put it in a harrier it start out in an elivator and transition into level flight. on the way down it does fine but when i try to level out the wings start rocking. i can use the ailerons to try and keep it level and it works but sometimes it gets out of control. do you have any advice ie. setup or anything els.

thanks willy

Latelly I have been doing something I have wished for a long time. Land from a flat spin, prop spinning, take off again. I am doing it with my 40%CAP..... Yeahh, sure, doing with my SPA3D and 46 mousse pipe. Sometimes it bend the tail gear a little, but no major hassle.
People simply go wow.. hes got the guts... and a very ugly plane...

3-d. Mine rocked a bit, I just moved my CG way back, now I can harrier land it it got so stable.

Use your ailerons for the rocking, and rudder to steer it and throttle for altitude.

Ill get some harrier landing vids next time out!

is that really posible. how did you get your spin flat enugh to land without damaging the plane. is there a video or pictures of this. i would love to learn how to do that.

i have been doing flat spin landings lately aswell.

they look very good when the prop doesnt strike, it need to be still air to stop the tail lifting before touchdown-if its windy it sort of bobs up and down, thats when it can catch the prop on landing.

its very satisfying when theres a little wind and you judge the start position just right so it lands in the middle of the patch with the engine still running. takes practice though.

i hate when i go dead stick in a flat spin, i have no choice but to flat spin land then coz the fin needs the propwash to get 'working' again! the model i am flying doesnt come out of a real flat spin dead stick!!
