RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

And what will a saito 120S do in the showtime 50?

I had it in the ST 90, but I wasn't happy with the power. It wasn't enough to do low torque rollingscircles in a safe way. I was considering a funtana X100 but I think it will be same, not enough power for me.

Right now, Iam in the process of assembling my ShowTime 50. Using Futaba S3152 servos with a Futaba PCM receiver. I am also using a Saito 100 FA with a 14X6 APV Prop. I will let you all know how it goes.

Has anyone had doubt about the movement of the elevators? Seems to me with the set up as displayed in the book they don’t move much. I did added on longer servo arms, however just wondered if anyone was thinking the same.

Mine moves pretty much as far as I want to. It will really move...the elevators too.

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

It Flew! Today the first flight of my Showtime 50 with the Saito 100 was a big success. I was concern with the weight, since I installed a large engine and a JR 2700 battery, however it made no difference in flight. I trimmed very little during these first few flights making them less stressful. I am extremely happy with this model and see many enjoyable days at my flying field.

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

would the 120S fit on the Showtime 50? Would it be to much overkill?

thanks!!

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Way overkill

I was thinking at one point of using a saito 125 for mine, I never checked but I was told the weight difference was small.

I have an OS 61 2 stroker in mine, tons of power with unlimited vertical. Does anyone have any suggestions on a prop for this setup ?

Has anyone tried the ST50 with a YS .91? I've got one that needs a home, and I've been looking at this and the UCD 60...

:eek:my st 50 will be in on weds. Thinking of going with horizon's reccomendation of an evolution .52 2stroke. Going with futaba 3010 servos all around. Thoughts? This will be my first ARF. (nervously) Big mistake??

Koenieboy 06-12-2007 08:04 AM

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

the 3010 will be fine.

Hangar 9 quality is very good. I've several ARF's but H9 was the best quality I had so far.

I mounted a OS FS-91 in my ST 50 and the plane flies great. You need to shave the inside of the engine mount to make the OS fit but it's fine. It's been flying great and the CG was right on the money with the weight of the FS-91. I like it so much that I'm building a ST 90 and going to plant a O.S. FS-120S-E in it.

I cant believe people are even thinking of adding a saito 100-125 in this plane. I have the showtime 90 with the saito 125 and it flys beautiful.

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

Agreed! :) It is going to be way too heavy for optimum weight.
But then again it is hobby – everyone can do whatever one wants.
May be they are from rockets hobbies. ;)

RE: Showtime 50 anyone?

I've had a ST 90 with saito 120S, not enough power. I tried different props, but my conclusion was always.. not enough power.
