Yea man, I have not come any closer than about 25' to myself either. I don't see the point in coming closer than that, because then it just gets too load and scarry. I love our AW 36% Edge, the thing is so nice to hover and soooo fun to fly. Here is a pic of me hovering it.

Hey guys that laser 3D is awsome with that 63 in it. We just resently got ours going and the engine is still being broken in but the thing flys sooo great, does such nice harriers. we dont have a pic of it yet but it looks and flys great.

Do you have the sport model, or the scale Cap 232? I have the Sport model myself, and it will hover at a little over 1/2 throttle with a Saito 100, APC 15x6 prop. Oh, by the way, this is the first plane I ever hovered.

I would seirously look at the Horizon Seagull models Razzle at a 154.00 it's pretty hard to beat.
Just reinforce the horiz stab le and TE and I think you'll like it.
I prefer it to the Ucandoodooittootoo personally.
But that's just me....

I dont remember the wording but I am pretty sure it said.
No closer than 25' to a person including yourself,
No touching a model airplane in flight.

I guess I could seach the AMA site for the exact wording but why???

in my opinion touching the plane is not really a "demonstration". It's only taking a BIG risk.
there are plenty of other ways to impress the friends at the field with your plane evoluting far away from you

I gotta restate my favorite, the QHOR. They are very easy to hover. I used to think the UCD was really easy to hover, and it is, but with the QHOR not only is it easier but you aren't as afraid to get down low because the worst you can do is break a prop. In fact I liked JohnVH's QHOR so much that I just built one for myself today.

Yeah, it's a SPAD with a folded wing, aluminum channel, and standard tail feathers. You'd probably love one Wayne, they do the best harriers of any small plane out there. Considering their weight they just float around at low power settings and can rip it up at high speed.

PigMan, The Cap I have is a scale version. I just got done putting one together for someone else, very nice plane. Earlier I asked about a good two-cycle engine for mine....scratch that idea. This Cap has a GMS 78 on it and still needed 4 ounces of nose weight to balance, I'm going four-stroking.

Here's a vid of JohnVH's 40FP-powered QHOR. He built it with a clipped 24" wing. Power was okay with the 40FP and a 9x6 prop, he now has a 46LA on it and it is a little better.

All you need to know to get started

This little sucker is catching on at my field. Be sure to build the smaller "25" version for the 40LA. I'm building the "40-size" and will be installing a 65LA as soon as it arrives. JohnVH and I each have a 1/3 H9 aerobat and we have just as much fun flying the QHOR as the big guys!!

Holy moly how have I been missing this thread????;)

I stand as proof, the QHOR is a PERFECT hover trainer!! Strong, stable, not worried about dorking it because it wont break, did tail touches on the maiden flight, flat spins are killer and it flies good inverted fast or slow!

After two weeks of flying my qhors I have become MUCH better at hovering...

QHOR's are awesome!! Wayne, goto my Prop website below and check out the video's, there is a couple of them.

I would recommend a healthy BB.40-46 on the 30" model, and a .60+ on the bigger 36"one! Watch the vid, youll see why!! Cant have enough fun!! I have built over 10 of them now in the last two weeks..
