Does a .15 size 3D plane exist?
Geoharry: If you bought the OS 15 used in 81, I don't think it can be an "FP". It's the old cross-flow, iron piston version, and should say "OS MAX 15" on it. Does it also have a strap-on muffler?
The FP is schneurle ported and ABC. Suprisingly, the old version you have runs really good. I also have one, and it's almost the same in wieght and performance to the FP. I recall in my notes it turned a 9x4 MA 11,600 to 12,000, but had inconsistant fuel draw, probably due to an air leak I didn't have time to fix. Could you try a 9x4 and let us know how it works? It should have a lot more thrust, plus a bigger "disk" and prop blast to hover on, not to mention lower idle. let us know, Thx, Greg |

I recently built a .40 size PQHOR and it is the easiest thing out there for hovering, TR and harrier. This thing is too much fun to be legal.
Click on the link and watch "Jason Catches His Plane" http://www.riversedgerc.com/communit...download&cid=4 Don't tell too many people about this plane, it's making me look good. :D Reall, it's that easy to hover. Anyway, I'm going to try a .15 size if I can find a few hours to build one. The engine does have the strap-on muffler. Runs well and turns a 8x4 MA around 12,800. |

Geoharry: What's a PQHOR ?? I've never heard of this...but I'll check out the link.
Yep, that's the old "non-FP", cross-flow OS 15 you have. I think they run really good for that design of motor. You should really try a 9x4 MA on there, and see how you like it. The 9x4 MA doesn't load the motor as much as most other brands do. Thanks for the response..... what's a PQHOR ?? |

What about O.S. 15 CV-A ? Is there anybody with some expirience with this engine ?

PQHOR is a spad designed around being light and fully 3D capable. There's a guy in our local club who has one and he loves the thing. I haven't seen him fly it but he says it's fully 3D capable. You can download plans from one of the spad sites but I can't remember which one.

I have an OS 15 CV A .
Its a good little engine, i use it in my Pilot Hyde-Away (See the thread). I Wouldn't say is was amazing though. A good 25 would be a better choice (In my opinion blah blah blah....) Neil |

Does anyone have any experiecne running a Norvel 15? I don't recall seing anyone use a Norvel 15 on this thread.
How do they compare to the OS FP & LA 15 in wieght, throttle, and performance? |

I forgot to write that it can hover, do very tight rolls and loops. If somebody wants to have plans of my model please send me info on mail ( [email protected] )

Looks like Creek Hobbies should be getting the Showtime 3D in soon. Hopefully in September. I saw a prototype at the field and it looks like a great .15 size 3D plane. Large surfaces and light. The owner of Creek seems to be having fun with it TRing, hovering etc.
Not sure of the price but I think the ARF is under $100 , but that's a guess. |

Do you have any pictures of the Showtime 3D that you can post, or a link to where we can see it? You've mentioned it a few times now, and it sounds really interesting...but I can't get to excited over something I've never seen yet. The estimated price would be great, too! If they can get an ARF to us for under $100! Thanks for the update! |

Sorry I don't have any pics, Creek doesn't update their web site very often.
I wish the plane came sooner but Creek is at the mercy of the supplier. To order a run of planes you have to put all of the money up front and wait. Last time I heard, the planes are done and on the boat to the US. |
Does a .15 size 3D plane exist?
Hi to everyone!
I am now finishing my Komacro 15. I will use my magnum .15 for it three hs 81 servos one hs 300(for the ailerons). I still have one problem: How should I mount the wings. I want it to be transport able. They need to be unmountable. I think that I will have it flying in the next 2 weeks. I will maybe even post photos or a video!!! of how it flies. |

a while back i designed a mini 3d plane for an os 20 fp, called the killer bee.
it flew really well , flatspins , inverted or upright , the most incredible roll rate i have seen yet, knife edge loops, hovering etc etc last week i started drawing up a second killer bee, for a speed webra 20. in the whole plane i used 6 sheets of balsa, the result is a plane with 5 mini servos and a webra 20 that weighs 1lb 6 oz!! now, i thought that my first killer bee was good, this thing is incredible, on the first flight i took off and added in aileron trim, flipped to high rates and the now legendary killer bee roll rate was even better on the mk2 version. the webra 20 pulls it vertical with no problem at half throttle and accelerates out of hovers with ease. i can knife edge at less than 1/4 throttle, with knife edge descents (backwards in wind!),. knife edge loops are easy , there is little coupling on the rudder. next i tried the elevator/parachute, went up high, cut the throttle and slowed right down, full up and caught the initial wing rock(only for a second) and it started dropping, straight down , nice and slow, steering was easy with the rudder. it will do this just the same inverted. flat spins re now possible either way up with very slow descents. on the first flight i came back with a very big smile on my face, heres a list of things i tried on the test flght- flat spins hovering parachutes harriers knife edge knife edge loops knife edge figure eights, both horizontal and vertical knife edge hovering knife edge parachutes rolling circles / loops it obliged to all of these with ease, now im no-one to blow my own horn when it comes to my ow designs but this one is a winner, watch out for it in RCM&E, i may have it published as a free plan. the mini jazz, as neil mntioned is a good model, very quick to build and with a wide engine range, not so much 3d though, but a good freestyle model. i will try to submit a photo of the mk2 killer bee in the semi built stage, with a photo of the completed model when i get a chance! |
