Wings are looking on target for less than a lb each so far, fully servo'd up, covered etc, with wing tube... 2 m wing less than 2lbs all up... mmmm..

There is nothing wrong with Flip, she's a tad heavy - but thats' it.
CPLR wouldn't put his name to it other wise

With regards to Freestyla - sorry, but I think it's ugly...it reminds me of a Ripmax Extreme copy. I don't think that it p***s all over a CPLR design, in fact I feel that a CPLR design p***s al over a freestyla, box of bits for £79, or a CPLR design for £150.00 it's your choice. you get what you pay for, I would also have a good look at the new H9 Funtanna 40.

be careful about going to far back on the flip. you get to a point where small changes further back create big differences, and when that happens you need that engine for sure.

I sold my Flip to a guy ready to run.

within a week he lost the engine and over cooked it on the elev and whammo. toast. well, sort of curly bread actually, not that badly damaged considering !

DO NOT EXPECT to fly this plane like your cougar. You can get away with blue murder with a cougar.

Why you sell your flip???

I tell you now, i not daft enough to put the cg that farback on my flip. I may be mad with my cougar which i piked up for 35 quid, but i would never be daft enough to do that on a 189 pund aircraft. especially wen you have a bank ballence the size of a cox engine!!!!
I was a bit more sensible with my newer artf cougar, thats only a 2 inches from the rear recomended cg.

How do you mean i cant get away with blue murder with a flip. maybe for once in my life i may (will) use the rate switch, will this help?

My cg is a centimeter behind the reccomended range.

I might suck at it because it was my first time getting it that low but I still think it's fun. :D

Flips don't only hover,try parachute, wing tip roles , kiteing with wind, rolling on the spot to name but a few. Not forgetting the odd tumble

I do like hovvering yes.... its a good way to warm the brain up, especially with something like the cougar cos its easy (comparatively)

But soon it gets boring, when you can do it, like anything else. So then you must invent new challenges. Like prop hang / hovvering nose in. thats hard at the beginning.. try it but be careful.

then proper torque rolls (you can do these with a cougar - in fact it was on a cougar that I cracked the manouvre, now on other planes its a lot easier. still have my off days thought!)

Flip... dunno.. dont like the scheme, was getting board of fun flies (of that type).. and bloke nagged and begged at me to sell it for months.. eventually gave in. got a good price though ! Plus it was taking up space and the work shop had to be cleared for other projects....

ive got one in my hype 3d and i must say it pulls from a hover like a rocket with a APC13x4w prop..well it did till yesterday then it started making a clicking noise then stopped while inflight ..landed ok but the engine does not feel right my club members say that feels like the big end's gone????? all this and it hasn't even had 1/2 a gallon through it yet

i will be ringing weston's tomorrow to get them to sort it by the weekend ....

im not saying that the engine's are crap...just seems ive been unlucky this weekend as i also buried my cougar in the floor on the same day.....

im using weston's prosynth 2000 10%nitro as recommended
by alan at weston's not only that if you dont use their fuel the warranty on the engine is void(they can tell if you don't use it)

so i should be getting another one free

i tacked the engine (before it went wrong) turning a APC 13x4w prop at 12100 (that would have been flight 3)

I know the engine runs on a 13x4 W but I have to say I think this prop is too big, and I shall not be surprised if this contributed to any engine damage.

I would suggest either the 12.25x3.75, 12x5, 13x4 or even 13x5 standard blade but not the wide...

well alan at weston's recommed's the 13x4w prop for the engine and the hype 3d and he sold me everything i live local to weston's so i might go down tommorrow

im not to sure but he has already had my engine back once and the first thing he said was i can tell that you are using my fuel ...

beats me how they know but he did say when i bought everything the engine will look like brand new even after two years if i use his fuel
