Props are way cheaper from Island Hobbies... but this is not a plug so sorry about that.

Pro Synth is good stuff. They can tell because the fule leaves a very feint blue sheen on the surface of the internal parts..
That how it stays looking so clean... sort of Daz white if you know what I mean !

I appreciate Weston may recommend the prop but I think ts too big that all...

alongtime ago in a model shop far far away i bought some but now i buy bekra from the planet of friendtopia. It costs 13.50 inter galatic pounds. Its made of a rare substance called klotz from the planet of Syntetica. Its made in the model technia mines of Shoeburynessier in the galexy of essexia.

well i rang alan at weston's today about my engine he told me to bring it down (i live local) he replaced the engine apart from the head,carb and backplate.aparently 2 circlip's had fallen of and total wreck it inside he did show me load's of score marks on the liner piston and crank case..

he gave me first class service as he allways does...now just got to wait till sunday so i can break in the engine and fly my hype....


johnyh the props i was talking about are APC 13x4 wide and yes £8.50 each :( but ive put a 12.25x3.75 on the engine this time just to see how it goes

Touch wood (touch my head) i dont snap many. In my 1 year 9 months of flying ive only snaped 3. 1 in a midair wen i hit the ground and 1 when i hit the ground from six feet up when my battery whent flat on me in a vertical dive and i managed to snap 1 on my trainer.

Wethers crap as usual. Hope it gets better for sat.

Sorry to leap into this thread like this but...

Do any of you know the % of oil in Pro Synth fuel from Weston? I would like to give it a go some time but the website does not give the %.

Does anyone know wich way up to start the 50t1. I cant seem to do it upright, i turn it upsidown and it like niagra falls!!! all the fuel pors out of the plug hole when i take it out!!!

Also is it normal for it to squeek at TDC. Its never run and i just tried to start it 10 mins ago in its like an army of mice being run over by a 747 at top speed!!!

Its flying tomorrow. Well i hope. its the club funfly on sat and ill try to sneak in a flight at lunch.

edible i start my .50t1 the right way up i turn it on its side prime it put it on its wheels attach glow clip flick with my finger a couple of times and away it goes...and boy did it go..well it did!!!

as for the engine took it back to weston's they had it apart.... 2 circlips came off on the piston totally messed it up big score marks everywhere they gave me a new one apart from my carb,head and backplate.....

so back to breaking the new engine in again on sunday at the field hope it performance is as good as the last....

will let you know the outcome


the noise you are getting is normall once the engine is going it will disapear ...when i first started mine i had to use the electric starter but once its broken in give it a flick of the finger and your away..... it pull's my hype 3d like a rocket from a hover on a 13x4w prop sooooooooo much better than a irvine 53

I, as you might know, am a manufacturer and supplier of particular model goods. not a hobby shop though.

I only sell what I am willing to use.... so think of it as buying from a friend...

I have no issues with pro synth from weston. I have not used it on my ys engines as I have a diff fuel for them already.

But I use their 5%, 10%, and 15% fuel and it is just fine. I use the 15 for heli and hi perf. 10% for my capiche and other stuff and 5% when Im teaching.

When Im drinking it usually at least 12%s!!!

FLIPS ARE AMAZING. Never done a tork roll in my life. First time i try it on my first flight: 10 rolls. 4 spaps with no forward speed and no wind. Didn,t do too many manic things until i put some carbon tows in stresed parts. Give a more detailed report soon.

Archie: Yup you have, you say you dont use prosynth in para 3 of your message (post 67) but then in para four u say you use 5, 10 and 15% fuels, Maby its just me

Sprink: I like my name to. I was going to have Lead Wheels as a name but i couldnt. Im also caled Funflyer on the Scale Aerobatics forum and Fun_2_fly on the BMFA forum.

Flying my flip tomorrow at a local club after school (Why cant i fly all day and skive off school) I dont fly it with rates, but with full throws and -100% expo (futaba). V.easy to fly

I have had rates on all my fun flys etc, but once I'm used to the plane I never use them.

We have a fairly new flyer at my club, now with an Irvine Wildcard. He was having problems the other day so I took over to help out. As it is his third plane, he is still using his skysport 4! But had set the throws to high rate levels. Trying to fly that without any expo at all was a nightmare. Still solved the problem, he had knocked the trims before take off and panicked when it didn't fly as expected.

Taught me that you need expo, especailly on ailerons. I'm planning on splashing out on a 9ZAP WCII, so perhaps he'll buy my FF8. :)
