There are a ton, I repeat a TON, of places out there to host your site on. If you are not getting instantaneous support when experiencing site outages as a merchant then I'd bale and find a new provider. I have a few friends that use Yahoo! small business and are very happy with it. I'd look there to start.

If the Domain registration is the provider's responsibility, get rid of them (after christmas at least) and pray they don't give you a line of BS about
transfering your domain name to your new provider.
If you registered your domain name, well, whoops, you didn't renew in time. Do it asap so you don't end up fighting a squatter.
