Default RE: prop size for 52ccquadra?

Well here we go again, in my experience, it makes no difference in type of prop on the Q-52, it will not begin to turn any prop with the authority, of the other 3.2 engines out there, BME, FOX, Precision, etc. It is just not a very powerful engine. What it is is a very owner friendly, reliable power plant for fun type flyers. I have owned 2 of them, one I still have, that I switched to C-H Ignition, didn't help in the power department, just made it easy to start with out the spring. This engine has a ton of hours on it, and it runs very well, but a 20X10 is not a prop it likes. The airframe that it has been in for the last 10 yrs is an R&R Snapper, it weighs 18 lbs, and will fly in any weather you can think of. It's not very aerobatic, but does what it does without scaring the hell out of you.

BTW, for Don, with the Q-42, one of my friends has one and it will turn any prop you put on it faster than either of the Q-52's I've had. And for the record, I am hardly an expert when it comes to 2 stroke gas engines, but there is very little that I don't know about them.

Bigger is always better
