I set all of Quests at 165-mm from the LE. This is as per the instructions, no matter where the tank is situated. To get a plane that tracks well and stays locked on its heading it is importatnt to not go too far back with the CG because we are configuing this plane to fly precison aerobatics.
What you have on the front does not affect where you set the CG. Your tank postion will have very little effect on the flying charateristics as it empties.

Hi Eric
Where is the CG on the quest. When I asked the question I received a range of 2.5 in from 6" to 8.5" from the leading edge. Since I am new to pattern and assembling my first pattern ship, where would you suggest the CG should be set. Remember I am flying a YS110 with a Hyde mount and the tank is mounted reward just behind the rear bulkhead of the original tank compartment.
