RE: The Badius Owners Club
Doug, here's a good motor. [link=http://www.aarchobby.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=103_88&prod ucts_id=705]2825-032 brushless outrunner[/link]OUt runner, kv 3200. Inexpensive. Shouldn't take long for shipping to Japan since it's coming from Hong Kong. Shipping to the U.S. is $8, motor is $35. It has a 2.3 mm shaft. The one I bought had a 3 mm shaft and came with a pinion gear to fit the shaft. Uses same mounting screws & pattern as the speed 400 motors. Actually, it has the option of speed 400 spacing, or the next size up, just depends upon which set of holes you need. I can vouch for it being a good motor. I've been using it direct drive with some pretty big props for the KV, I flew the Yak with it today using a 7x7 prop and a 2 cell li-po. Screams! Was easily hitting 80 mph. I've flown it with a 6 x4 and 5.5 x 4 on 3 cell, also tried 5x5. Makes for a fast plane direct drive. But it's got a high enough KV that you can gear it down and use larger props. Oh, also, it's really easy to replace the motor shaft ( I bent the carp outta my first shaft, kind of re-straightened it & broke it later on.). It's not a press fit like the Motor Max, it has a 1.5mm set screw in the back side that you loosen to remove the shaft. I need to get some shaft material and make my own, the shaft that comes on it( at least the 3 mm one) is on the long side. I ended up using a gear box shaft from a parkzone gear box to replace mine with, shortened it up, works great.
Brent, great video's!!!!!!!! I'm really glad that you got the Corona to fly for you. Looked really good. Next time get the landing in the video if you can. I have a real hard time in the simulator trying to land.
