hello dipsy...i noticed you were online........you asked about flying here in oklahoma.........there are alot of people that fly here...i live in a town called TISHOMINGO...named after a famous indian leader in the late 1800s....population 3000....every little town around here has private airports (left over from the oil boom in 1980s)...due to oil prices dropping...people have sold their full size planes ,so the airports are not used any more...the runway at tishomingo is 3000 feet long...there are small groups of flyers in each town and we drive to other sites and fly with them....there is a club flying site at LAKE MURRAY STATE PARK in ARDMORE ,OKLHOMA that is very nice..it is about a 100 acre parcel that is leased from the state..it has a asphalt runway ,picnic area with benches for spectators..i have been flying for about 15 yrs...i too was in the air force..1972-1976....thanks for your advice
