Could you have mounted your engine on the wrong side of the mount? Usually with a cowling(I'm guessing that's what your calling a "nose"), the engine gets mounted first, and cinched up, and then the cowling(nose as you call it) gets its final mounting place based on where the spinner/engine is. Also the cowling cannot be mounted without a spinner backplate installed to line it up. That is if it's got a cone style spinner. I hope I did get your post right though......if not my apologies..I do hope this helps though.
