Default mounting the motor

I'm workin on a citabria 40.I centered the motor like it said but when i put the nose on the hole doesnt line up with the spinner.
If i turn it up side down everything matches just fine.Is there a problem with mounting the motor upside down?

Default mounting the motor

lots of motors are mounted upside down, some times at idle the engine may run a little rough or the idle needs to be adjusted a little faster, with the inverted engine the glow plug can get a little wetter. Main thing is to line the fuel tank with the carb. spray bar, center of fuel tank to 3/8 above center to spray bar on carb.works good.

Could you have mounted your engine on the wrong side of the mount? Usually with a cowling(I'm guessing that's what your calling a "nose"), the engine gets mounted first, and cinched up, and then the cowling(nose as you call it) gets its final mounting place based on where the spinner/engine is. Also the cowling cannot be mounted without a spinner backplate installed to line it up. That is if it's got a cone style spinner. I hope I did get your post right though......if not my apologies..I do hope this helps though.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the help guys. i did try to mount the engine both ways with the mounts. The engine is just too tall to mount up right.
My worry was the plug getting too wet.Didnt know how it would effect engine performance.

Thanks
David
