Default Have engines, need plane ideas to torque roll...

Hello,

I have a Dave Patrick Ultimate with a YS 1.20 fz engine. I have been running 15% coolpower fuel and using an APC 16x8 prop. I have found the plane to be just a little too heavy to torque roll and hover regularly. Sure, I can pull it off every once in a while, but there is no reserve power on hand to bail out or accelerate vertically.

I recently installed an OS 1.60, but the cold weather prevents me from test flying. I am not certain that the two stroke torque curve will work well for torque rolling this plane, but I sure hope so.

Now I am looking for a perfect plane to fly 3D with the YS 1.20 fz. I know I will need to find a lightweight plane, which is hard to do in the 1/4 scale range.

I have heard that the Sig Cap 231 EX is a good choice, but I want to be certain before handing over $350 plus tax. I was disappointed with the performance of the Ultimate with this engine. I love the YS fz, but just need to find a better plane.

I want to fly 3D without reserve. I hope to do low torque rolls, rudder touches, blenders, elevators, harriers, etc. I can pogo a Morris Knife across the field touching the rudder from a hover with no problem, so I think it is time to move on to a larger, more stable platform.

Thanks,
Tyler
