Ok, I am now definetly looking at not buying a package, but what good trainers are there which do not come in package form. Also what good radios are there. Because of my new job my budget is now about $800, but i can go a little over that. (400 or so american)

Woodsy, thanks for the advice, i will look into all the parts you have listed. What club do you fly at? If it is not too far away I might be able to come on Sun, just gotta see how this weekend goes.
