It does nothing for performance. The spark generator will charge up just the same, and timing curves also remain unchanged.
Over-voltage will kill the ignition
under-voltage will operate the low voltage cirquit, and limit rpm to about 3000 by retarding the ignition timing.
That is, if the evolution ignition resembles MVVS ignitions.
