Default RE: Chip Hyde's Cap-X - Building & Flying

Just got my Cap X. It has the crazy but neat color scheme. I really was in need of a good beater plane to keep in the car and this fit the bill. Only thing I noticed funky was some of the paint on the cowl and the fit of the H stab could have been better. Nothing an incidence meter and some epoxy can fix.

Since I have read all through this forum I am going to use the CF rod method for the elevators. I will put them and the ailerons in the drill press to get the exact same location for the control horns.

Here is the setup:
JR 9303
R770 RX
2800 mah lion
2 x 625 mgs ailerons (cheap and I have them laying around)
2 x 5945 elevators
1 x 5925 rudder (insane fast)
1 x 81mg throttle
os 1.60 with pitts

Nothing fancy and looks like it will make a great basher plane to keep in the car. I am going to put some pin up girls in the white areas of the wings and stabs.

Should be fun to fly with an insane fast rudder. Going to try a VP 20 for the OS 1.60 as I have used it in the past. Right now its my only glow engine and I plan to keep it that way. Why glow? Well I want to keep it inside the car and not have the to worry about gas smell. The scheme is really growing on me the more I look at it.
