The 46LA would be fine. I use a 12.25x3.75 APC prop with this engine on my Magic and it is plenty for flying and hovering with some to spare.

The 46LA is several onces lighter that the FX so watch your CG if the plane was balanced with an FX.

As for the gear, I pulled mine off last week due to the snow. All it needs is full throttle and a gentle toss
