Default failsafe problems

Hi Everyone,

Firstly I'm a newbie so apologies if i ask a really stupid question but I'm a little stuck so i thought it best to come and ask before i break something.

I have a Schumacher Menace 21, its standard RTR at the moment with the Schumacher r1000 servos. I have got a failsafe delivered today which I was about to fit but my connections on the failsafe are different to those of my servos.

The servo connections have like a little slip of plastic on one side that connects into a groove in the receiver, but my failsafe is smooth all round, it is a Schumacher failsafe.

Am i right in thinking that i need to just unplug channel 1 from my receiver (which is the throttle/break servo) plug in the fail safe and then plug the servo cable into the female end of the servo cable?

Do i have to "clip" the plastic bit off ?

Many thanks in advance for your information, I have searched on here but couldn't find anything, maybe its obvious to everyone else, lol
