Default RE: 40cc or 50cc?

ORIGINAL: surf

I'm taking the plunge and trying a gasser. I would like your opinion on the size of motor to buy. The Airplane is the CA 26% 330 (kit) and from what I read, it should end up around 14 to 16 lbs.

I would like an engine that I can try 3D with, but not be so much on power that it is a hand full. What would be your recommendation on engine size? Thanks for the help.
If you want to try 3D and hover it at 1/2 throttle--then it's GOT to have enough power to be "a handfull"

Hovering at full throttle is dangerous. No room for error. No reserve to get you out of trouble.

I wouldn't put marginal power on it. Nothing worse than an anemic aerobat.

Whats the weight difference between the 40cc and the 50cc? 1/4 pound? 4oz or 5oz of weight on the nose of a 26% plane is nothing.

Get the 50cc motor and use it on the next plane. You can't do much with a 40cc engine after you crash this one.
