I used an OS46 on mine and didn't have a problem with fuel draw, give it a shot.
I did not use any additional wheel bracing either and when I was learning I did put the gear to the test, so to speak. It really doesn't need it, just go out and fly it. Make sure you fly with an instructor and use a "buddy box" if you haven't already soloed.
