Okay, so today was an awesome day at the flying field. I took my Sig Somethin' Extra (read all about it here if you have maybe 8 hours to kill) and my Sky Raider Mach II (which I let a friend fly so he could participate in the April Fool's Fun Fly we had).

I flew my SSE in the Fun Fly, which was my first event ever like that (until today I just flew to be flying, not in any kind of competition). At the end of the April Fool's Fun Fly, I somehow ended up being the overall winner! My first Fun Fly and I actually won it!!! I was just hoping to be in the top five at best.

The other thing that made today really great was that a club member had a bunch of RC stuff he'd been paying to keep in storage that he was tired of paying for. I bought a Carl Goldberg Electra Deluxe kit (a 2 meter sailplane that cost him $65) for $5. Yes, five bucks for a sailplane kit! He said he cared more about it going to someone who would really enjoy it than about making any money off selling it.

So... that's how my day went. I'm feeling pretty darn good.
