Yeah, although it can keep most contaminates out for car tolerances it does not filter anywhere near good enough for the Nitro engines. I can't warn you enough to put your sponge elements back in, or look toward R/C minded companies for aftermarket support. There are some out there for .30 and larger engines, I believe Motor Saver makes one.
