Default RE: Will this work for Stuart?

hello again jstrat121 as near as i can figure a 540 motor would have approx.10-14 turns of wire on the on armature they rate motors by turns on armature. ratio to watts witch is the real power used by motor in this case it is a dc power source normaly a 540 dc motor might pull or use appox. 1.5-3 amps normal load not under big strain[:@] and again depends on how much voltage is used [>:] as i said earler my setup will require a much bigger esc but i'am using bigger motors bigger gear boxes in your case if you use the same gear boxes and same motors you might be able to use a esc that is rated appox. up to 12-15 amps and be safe with it most speed controllers i have been exsposed to like a novak for example will give a rating of max amps of 12-15 @ say 7.2dc volts or more. something i noticed with my abrams it had 2 voltage resisstors on the electronic controll board to protect the motors from overload but i could not use with new esc as said some esc will have a built in overload protectionif you choose a dual esc i think will work better for your application i have read on the forum that a guy was selling a real good dual motor esc on ebay but it was used i looked at robot market place and found some good dual motor esc and at a good price from what i read about them they have two ways of controll first was single stick witch would be a mix digital controll as know as waubble stick type or secondly was dual stick controll witch is two sticks one for each motor left or right i chose to go with the first type so i could use the other for different controll of turret ect.the most thing i 'am tring to do with my abrams is to keep the cost downi have found alot of parts from salvage yards to copping machinesat this point of up grade i'am tring to save up for the vantek esc$262.00[]but i guess it will be worth it when i get done with iti look at it as a good investment to have a good running true r/c tank i will try to keep everbody up dated on progressi also found a way to replace the drive sprockets also with metal ones any way with your stuart if you are going to try keep it as stock as possible the internal components diffenatly need replaced my abrams electronics quit on mine thats why i have to replace them and gear boxes went outbut any way good luck with your stuart if i can help in any way just hallar[sm=thumbup.gif]
