I learned on the Senior w/o ailerons. If it's set up right on the transmitter it feels no different than a 4 channel plane. Just make sure rudder is on the right and nose gear is on the left. The only disadvantage to it is it's very limited as far as aerobatics. But if you can't fly this plane well, you can't fly anything!
