I think your 2 1000mah batteries into a single receiver through 2 switches will work fine, but you will only get a few flights before they need recharging. If possible increase the size of at least one of them.

Gorilla glue and some medium CA for repasirs should be all you need.

The choke on a G62 is hard to hook up. I usually just use a manual chock on the G62.
