You were running too lean before at idle, but it sounds like you fixed it. You can test your idle mixture by pinching off the fuel line going to the engine. If the RPM drops immediately, and the engine dies quickly, you are running to lean. (test this on a warmed up engine by the way) If you are properly tuned, the engine RPM should increase before decreasing, and it should take 3-6 seconds for the engine to die. If you are too rich, the engine would take longer to die.
