it shouldn't harm the pullstart, i know many people who use bump starters on their pullstart engines. the one way bearing should make it fine to bump start, it's no different to having your engine running.

i use the ofna chrome top & love it. heaps of grunt & with the gel cell it lasts a long time between charges.
