the smaller rx's i have found do not have the range check with the antenna down as do say a futaba 8 channel fm in a glow plane..about 100 feet or so...but you fly your foamie 1/2 if not less the distance to you...I have the 6 channel GWS with like a 20inch antenna...i can fly to my sight limits..no hits...i fly every night if the wind is not up...route away from the carbon...then go fly...IMO
