i have a friend who owns a hobby shop and he has one on his rc10...its on a o.s 15 engine an old one......it doesent really help anything other the looks of the engine...in other words its more of a conversation piece than anything....now this guy is a big time drag racer he builds 7 second all motor street cars so i think he knows a thing or 2 about superchargers...he also says the nitrous kits are a joke also...he says to run a higher nitro content to achieve the same results of the nitrous kit..after all nitrous is about more oxygen and so is higher nitro content
Nitrous oxide and Nitromethane are two completely different things buddy, you freind may know something about cars and superchargers, but you sure don't....
Nitromethane require less oxygen to burn then gas, so you can burn alot more of it inside and engine then with gas, and thus making more HP...Nitrous is basicaly injecting more oxygen into the motor, Nitro methane is about burning well with less oxygen, nitrous is all about adding more oxygen.
Now people who say you can't boost two strokes needs to sit down and quit talking about stuff they dont know....everyone says a 2 strokes ports are open so it can't make boost....Well have any of you net experts ever tried blowing thru your motor carbutrator ?? as I can assure you there is plenty of air resistance inside the engine, hell blow into one end of an opensn straw and measure the pressure inside, and it will be higher then atmospheric, if it didn't reach higher pressure air would never be forced out the other end....I can assure its much much easier to blow ait thru a straw then it is to blow air into a nitro engine
Air is not sucked into a engine as you all think, air is actualy forced into the engine by atmospheric pressure, 14.7 psi is average atmoshpheric pressure....SO an engines ability to breath is limited by how much air can be pushed in with 14.7 psi, the supercharger will increase the force with which the air is pushed into the motor......As a result more air enters the motor which means more fule can be burnt, which means more power...
