It's a pretty easy build. Dennis provides first rate wing and stab panels sheeted with control surfaces cut. You only need to face the control surfaces and add leading edge and tips. The fuse is basically a box. Do take the time to round the corners. It looks much nicer that way.
I've never seen a 2 stroke DR, but my OS61 would be pretty hard to beat. If I were going to put it in a DR I would substitute a Dynathrust muffler for the stoke muffler to get a little more go. You'd need to stay as light as possible with a 2 stroke.
What you'll find with a DR is a really nice sport plane that's capable of almost anything ask of it. The rudder is a bit small by modern standard, but knife edge is good if the cg is right.
