I have talked to Dennis Hunt and am considering building his Daddy Rabbit short kit... I would like thoughts on the performance of the plane and 2 stroke engine recommendations.. Would build it as a tail dragger. Any suggestions on the build would be appreciated...Fred123[&:]

It's a pretty easy build. Dennis provides first rate wing and stab panels sheeted with control surfaces cut. You only need to face the control surfaces and add leading edge and tips. The fuse is basically a box. Do take the time to round the corners. It looks much nicer that way.
I've never seen a 2 stroke DR, but my OS61 would be pretty hard to beat. If I were going to put it in a DR I would substitute a Dynathrust muffler for the stoke muffler to get a little more go. You'd need to stay as light as possible with a 2 stroke.
What you'll find with a DR is a really nice sport plane that's capable of almost anything ask of it. The rudder is a bit small by modern standard, but knife edge is good if the cg is right.

A two stroke engine for that plane would have to be a Webra, HP, or Fox. Their are other very good engines but they would either be heavy or less power. I think there may be a Jett engine that would fit the bill, but some of them are also on the heavy side.

I have a DR that flys very well with a supertiger 61 ringed and standard muffler, you can fly some real big loops, it flies a very constant speed with a 12.5/6 apc prop. I think you will be even happier with a webra speed 61f but its twice the price of the st61, By the way, this thing blows away a kaos and flies alot like a present day pattern plane.
