Much as I like my 9C, too, probably as much as you like yours, I have also considered doing the same thing; but as you say, a bit pricey. For less $$$, you could buy the Polk's Hobby Tracker III system, which has basically the same function--it will scan the channels and only allow you to use one not already in use.The Tx will work with any Rx, also. The Rx is compatible with all brands of Tx and also works on any channel, and automatically changes shift. Cool thing is, both Tx and Rx, plus batteries and one servo, are $199. It also has 99 model memory, digital trims, either 9 or 11 preset mixes, I forget which. The guys at the field who have them like them a lot.
