It seems that the channel I fly on has become popular and I am having to wait a good while for my turn with the pin. I am looking at some of my options.
My radio is a Futaba 9c. Its my understanding that I can get a syntheisized module for the transmitter and select a different frequency without having the transmitter re-tuned..correct?
As for the receiver it looks like I can buy a syntheisized receiver, which appear to be kind of pricey or buy a couple of crystals for the receivers I am currently using, which are all Hitec.
I guess my question is am I understanding this correctly? Are there any more tips that I need to know.
Thanks for any advice on this.

Much as I like my 9C, too, probably as much as you like yours, I have also considered doing the same thing; but as you say, a bit pricey. For less $$$, you could buy the Polk's Hobby Tracker III system, which has basically the same function--it will scan the channels and only allow you to use one not already in use.The Tx will work with any Rx, also. The Rx is compatible with all brands of Tx and also works on any channel, and automatically changes shift. Cool thing is, both Tx and Rx, plus batteries and one servo, are $199. It also has 99 model memory, digital trims, either 9 or 11 preset mixes, I forget which. The guys at the field who have them like them a lot.

I just switched my 9CHP overr to a synthesized module. I love it!
I have been carrying around 2 modules and 4 Tx crystals, just to avoid the same situation.
Your Hitec receivers will work just fine with the module.
As long as you stay in the receivers band you will not have a problem.
11-36 is low band 37-60 is high band.

I have been using a synthesized module in a 9Z for the last 6 years and would not go back to anything else. The transmitter has 25 or 26 models programmed in on 10 or more frequencies. It beats the multiple transmitter shuffle and battery maintainence on multiple transmitters plus it doesn't require the purchase of too many single frequency modules to justify buying the synthetic module.
I have heard that some aftermarket receivers do not work as well with them but have not experienced that with the ones that I am using.

Thanks for the replies. Yea no doubt I'm sticking with the 9c. I guess the module is the way to go, I'll just have to go thru the aggravation of swapping crystals.
Of course I could go to Ham band.
Thanks again

Since I switched to the synthesized module,
I am selling a low band module with crystals for only $25.00 in the classifieds.
