Default Choosing engine

Hi all,

So I'm yet another that is converting to gas and so I'm a newbie... I am getting the SIG Sukhoi and I was going to get the First Place Engine 2.4. When I mentioned it to someone at my field, they said FPE's are too heavy for their weight. He suggested the ZDZ 40Rv. I just checked and the FPE weighs 52 OZ with the muffler and cranks out 3.3 HP. The ZDZ weighs 50.4 but I think that is without the muffler (could someone verify?) and cranks out 4 HP. I am not planning on hovering or anything like that, just simple aerobatics and I don't need an overpowered plane. I guess I would prefer a lighter plane that is adequately powered. Are there any other suggestions for a motor and could people give me their 2 cents worth on the choices I have mentioned? Also, it seems logical that an engine tuned for more HP will not last as long. Is this also something to consider?

Thanks for the help.
