Default RE: Retracts in PTS p51

Once you cut in to the wing you wll be surprised how the originals were installed. First i epoxied the wing together. Then I got a stick of maple 1/4 in by 3/4 inch. I epoxied it in between the wing ribs where the fixed gear goes from the wing to the ground. Used a drimel tool to cut a small notch for the strut and under it drilled a hole for the linkage. You only have to cut on ether side of the fixed gear mounting bock. I cut a hole for the retract server and made the servo mounts out of maple and epoxied 1/4 by 1/4 bass on each side of the servo mounts to connect the servo mounts to the center of the wing.

i went in to this project with the attitude if it didn't work the trash can was only a few steps away. I expect the wing to fold on me but to my surprise it didn't. I kid you not this plane flys as fast at 1/2 throttle as it did at full before the install. It looks great in the sky. Its a completely different plane.

I recommend this conversion if you board with this airplane.

Good luck.
