I had a setup similar to yours on my first foamy (Eflite Tribute). It lacked power and the motor wore out quickly. Also the plane took a pretty good beating because of the lack of power. I threw away the brushed motor, controller and nimh pack and went brushless and lipo. It just wasn't any fun to fly until I upgraded. The flights were also very short.

I don't know anything about the reflection motor and nimh setup, but would assume it to be similar to my tribute.
