Default RE: Which engine for a Funtana S from Hangar 9

resedaguy818,
I have also been flying only electrics before purchasing a F40 about 6 weeks ago. Being my first glow plane, I'm very satisfied with mine. The thing that a fuel plane has over electric is a heart that beats when you fire it up. I love the sound and smoke when it comes alive!

Skip the OS 70, power will be only marginal. IMHO, a Saito .82 is a fine motor for this plane. It's a good balance of weight, horsepower, cost and reliability. The F40 doesn't need power for speed, it needs power for hovering and pullout. The Funtanas are not designed for speed. Check out the size of the ailerons, they are almost half the size of the wing!
