If I kept half of what I had when I was a kid I could retire in style! I had several of those planes when I was younger. Never did get them to fly very good as I didn't know what I was doing. Also I had most of the Cox's line up. I would say the best flying plane for me were those P-40 Warhawks. Also had one of those Snoopy Dog house that would barely stay on the end of the lines. Have you seen the prices for the Stuka planes on eBay? I had no less than 3 of them. Threw them all out when I moved out west. Doh!
You are not alone in the regret department. I bet more than half the guys here would say the same thing you did.
Sure is fun to try and recapture the olden days huh?
One good thing that I did manage to save. Most of the Cox planes in that time came with a brass backplate on the engine. Not the plastic things of today. I still have about 8 of those.
