When I was a kid I had a small biplane in the late 50's-early 60's that I believe was a cox plane. I think it had a .020 engine on it and it was a control line model. I can't seem to find a pic of one anywhere I have looked, maybe someone can help me out.
P.S. I think the little plane was red and white

Is this the one you remember, Cox Pee Wee Pitts? Cox also produced for a short time a Fokker Dr1 triplane and a Fokker D7 biplane with .049's and I have a pair of those too. Colors are not alway a good identifier as in many Cox issues colors were changed frequently.
Check Skylane42's site here for an amazing education on Cox and many others.

If I kept half of what I had when I was a kid I could retire in style! I had several of those planes when I was younger. Never did get them to fly very good as I didn't know what I was doing. Also I had most of the Cox's line up. I would say the best flying plane for me were those P-40 Warhawks. Also had one of those Snoopy Dog house that would barely stay on the end of the lines. Have you seen the prices for the Stuka planes on eBay? I had no less than 3 of them. Threw them all out when I moved out west. Doh!
You are not alone in the regret department. I bet more than half the guys here would say the same thing you did.
Sure is fun to try and recapture the olden days huh?
One good thing that I did manage to save. Most of the Cox planes in that time came with a brass backplate on the engine. Not the plastic things of today. I still have about 8 of those.
