If you are going to go brushless, you are better off to rip everything out and set it up with a single drive unit. [sm=confused.gif] But if it were me, I would do what I did 6 months ago, I sold it and bought a better boat that was easier to upgrade. The CEN Aquajet Extreme from offshoreelectrics.com. But after I bought the Aquajet, I was so happy I did not need to upgrade it.

Forgot to mention, Enjoy it for a little while like it is first then sell it because you are going to lose a little money anyway. This is my suggestion because you said you are a beginner and I don't think you are ready for the task of turning a twin drive into a single drive.
