Mark,

The aluminium rod as supplied with the Gator adjustable stab kit was used and fixed to the fuse. I made some plywood donuts which slid over this rod. I simply got everything aligned and then glued the plywood donuts in with micro balloons and epoxy to the inside walls of the fuse. Rough up the surface of the rod which is inside the fuse so that it cant move once glued.

What I like about this setup is you can tighten up each stab half to these pins so it acts as another anchor point. This stops any play in the stab what so ever. The method they provide simply has too much play in it for more likings which I feel could be a contributing factor to some of these failures we have all read about.
