I use spring-air 85deg retracts on my spit. It gives them a little wider stance. You HAVE to beef up the mounts and cut them up a bit to make them fit. I'm on my second spit. The first one bit the big one when I flew thru the sun on a landing approach. Dumb dumb dumb. The 5 or 6 seconds I couldnt see it was enough to put it in a spin before I regained sight of it. The first one didnt give me any problems with the retract mounts that I moded. The second one gave me nothing but problems with the retract mounts. Not enough glue was used so I ripped out everything and built my own setup. Havent flown it yet, been too busy.
