I am big supporter of CMP planes in the 65" and larger size , but with the new cost on ESM planes floating around the $299 price , I wont buy CMP again unless its a plane that ESM does not offer .
The quality of the esm and the servace of Tomas from VQ is just fantastic

Chris, try this email. [email protected]

Jackie has always gotten back to me.

LDM, you are right on about Tomas @ VQ, if all suppliers were like him it would be great. He went way over in helping me with my P-38 problem.

I have the Magpie 50 from CMP and it's a fantastic flying plane. The only problem I had was the whole section of the body above the wing is very weak. Mine all blew apart on just a rough landing. I bought another one that I will beef the heck out of in that area. The plane is very light so I have plenty of ability to add weight.

Glacier , I am finishing bashing my CMP Fw190 , while I love to do these arf bashes , in the end , your still left with some serious desing flaws .
My biggest issue is just how bad my tail was off regardless of how well I built a new one .
The fuse was so weak in the tail area that I had to float the tail area , while making sure I was not changeing the incidence . THis was not an easy task and I know if I started with a ESM version , the basic fuse is much stronger and true .

The wings have now been sealed and waiting for glass , the angles on the wings /tail were way off , mods were needed everywhere .
Canopy slides under air power , sierra retracts all around , G26 ei in the nose

I have a cmpro corsair 120 that I'm outfitting w/ sierra 100 degree retracts and a dle 30.On installing the sierras I realized I'll have to cut a large portion of the wing joiner to make enough room to fit.I've even moved the retracts toward the leading edge of the wing but still the cylinder and frame are sitting half way through the joiner. All thats really going to be left of the joiner in that area is 5/16 at the top of the joiner and nothing at the bottom. Is that going to be enough to support the outer wing under stress? If anyone has ran in to this and has either a solution or has proven this set up air worthy I would be glad for the insight.

THANKS,Chris

Saw these guys at the Toledo shows the last two years and their product for the price seemed to work very well.

I dont want to bash the esm gear , but so far I have not seen one report on any esm /KMP gear working . I sent my back to KMP for my Corsair and I am capable of taking them apart and they still act up . I benched tested them under no load or wind and they stuck , so I wont be useing them ,
Perhaps I can sell them on ebay and export them back to a buyer in China lol
after all what is international brotherhood about if we can export the same junk we import
Stay away from ESM retracts

Just bought a CMP Zero at the Perry swap meet in good condition for $75.00 I am wanting to know if the DLE 20 would have any problem pulling this plane. Also been trying to look in the forum to see about the C.O.G. and could not find a exact number, could someone help me out on these questions. Also need a canopy so I looked on the CMP web site and they are out of stock. Anyone have one they would sell, mine is cracked up a lot.
Thanks

Personally I think the DLE 20 is ok but its the bare minimum , I would rather see you use the DLE 30 .
Also I think that that esm may have a japense "Tony" and that canopy may work on the zero .
CG , start with 25% of mac , you cant go wrong

Thanks for the info, I'll look on ESM site for a canopy. On my ESM FW190 I used a G-38 and the balance came out on the money. I did not have to add any extra weight and got all the power I could want.

I have had a couple of them, good flyers, beef up the landing gear blocks first, use nylon screw!  Put a 30 in it or a ST 200 -2300
