Default RE: Ultra-RC Support Forum

Brian, glad to see Ultra bringing on a site just for their planes!!!
I have a question about the Quest. I built mine with a Saito 100, with everything in its stock location.... Then I put 14 oz of lead in the nose to make it balance. The all up waight (dry) came out to 10lbs on the nose. This is 1.5 lbs over the stated projected weight range. Is this normal? is 10 lbs ok? seems rather heavy on the gear, as they bow out a little under its own weight.
I know there are people move the tank back under the canopy, but that really works with a pumped engine (YS). A Perry pump won't work very well with a four stroke engine. (unless someone has figured out a way to make them work on the crankcase vent)
even if I move the tank and battery around and lose most or all of the lead, it still is overweight according to the book.
Any thoughts or ideas on this?

Thanks
CC
