I would be willing to bet that the right side of the plane looks exactly like the left side. The SE5a at the AF Museum in Dayton Ohio is a restored plane of the early American squadrons. On that plane both sides of the plane are the same. So a very safe bet would be for you to paint both sides of the plane exactly alike. You'll be on safe grounds and I don't think any one can challenge you on that.
