Been kind of taking a break from the Hellcat to finish another project that I have been wanting to do for a long time. A pilot to fit my Corsair and Hellcat cockpit kits! I am going to show him as he is roughed out, detail work and refinement is yet to be done. What I did so far was work on his posture and make sure he fits right in the cockpits. As Ram-bro pointed out in his observations, the pilots are leaning forward and not relaxing on the back head rest! No doubt paying attention to the flying of the aircraft and looking for the enemy.
Have the pilot sitting more upright in his seat and leaning forward. If you look at most pics of any warbirds and especially the Hellcats, the pilots are always , always leaning forward.
My pilot will be hollow cast in resin, so should be very light. When and if I am satisfied with my sculpture I'll pour a silicone mold. So stay tuned, will I like it or chuck it?
