This may actually be relevant to your choice of motor.
Using a 17x10 prop gives very little prop clearance. Only just over an inch! I had tp raise the landing gear about 3/4 inch, from its recessed position to being flush with the bottom of the fuselage.
I wouldnt like to use a smaller prop on this model having tried a 16x10 on the swallow, which was a pound lighter.
I think a 17 is ideal for the model, so if you were going with a lower KV motor, the weight of the 5330 wouldnt be a problem(I dont think the size of the cowling would be aproblem) You would need to up the cells you were using. I think im normally taking around 2.5 to 3 amps out for a spirited 10 minute plus flight(ish) I think i calculated the average current at around 15A. So you certainly could get away with a smaller lipo pack than the 6A that im using.
